Nursing Home Outreach
Nursing home outreach program
Sitting in area nursing homes are two groups of people. First, there are dear Christians trapped in failing bodies who need the joy and uplift of a visit from brothers and sisters in Christ. Second, there are dear souls sitting at the door of eternity who need to be rescued from the final wages of sin and introduced to the Savior.
When requested we try to help the residents with items they need, free of charge. Sometimes they need a few pieces of clothing, a new book, or a television. Sometimes they need a gift for a family member or friend but cannot afford one, No matter how big or small, we help in whatever way God allows, with their needs.
Some residents receive as little as $10.00 per month to purchase their personal items. Our ministry also exist to supplement a few of these needs, such as shampoo, lotion, Kleenex, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste as well as a few snacks when allowed. Each home is different in their needs.
Please pray for us as we minister to so many who have fallen through the cracks of society and who are now a shadow in the corner.

Are You Called to Serve in Our Nursing Home Ministry?
Your time can make a real and meaningful difference in the life of an elderly or disabled person who may be experiencing loneliness, isolation, or separation from family and friends. Whether someone is living in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, assisted living community, or care facility, a simple visit can remind them that they are not forgotten.
Through Samuel’s Haven Nursing Home Ministry, volunteers have the opportunity to spend meaningful time with seniors, listen to their stories, offer encouragement, pray with them, share Scripture, and simply provide a compassionate presence. Sometimes ministry happens through a conversation, a prayer, a smile, a listening ear, or sitting beside someone who simply needs to know that someone cares.
Your time may be valuable, but to someone who feels alone, your time can be priceless.
You don’t have to be able to visit a nursing home personally to be part of this ministry.
There are other meaningful ways to serve. If you are unable to volunteer your time in person, you can help provide resources, gifts, care packages, and other items that can be shared with nursing home residents. Volunteers and ministry partners can help prepare packages of encouragement and care that can be delivered to nursing homes and care centers—not only locally, but within your own community as well.
Our desire is to reach those who are often among the most vulnerable and easily forgotten in our communities. Whether you are visiting someone in person, preparing a gift or care package, helping provide needed resources, praying for our nursing home outreach, or helping us reach another care facility in your community, your participation can become an expression of the love of Jesus Christ. There is more than one way to serve, and every willing heart has a place in this ministry.

Our Nursing Home Care Kit is thoughtfully prepared with items designed to provide comfort, encouragement, and practical support. Kits may include basic care items, a large-print Bible or audio Bible, word-search and activity materials, comfortable slippers, a small treat, and other appropriate items for nursing home residents.
Each kit is more than a collection of items—it is an opportunity to remind someone that they are seen, valued, remembered, and not forgotten.
